The Punjab Police successfully apprehended three associates of the notorious Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang following a brief encounter in Jalandhar. The incident took place on Thursday when the police engaged in a fire exchange with the suspects. In the self-defense exchange, the police fired back, resulting in a 15-round shootout.

Police Operation and Gunfight Details

The Director General of Police (DGP), Gaurav Yadav, confirmed that the encounter occurred when the police team was fired upon by the suspects. One of the gang members was critically injured in the exchange and is currently receiving treatment in a hospital.

Significant Seizures and Gang’s Criminal Network

During the operation, six firearms and a substantial amount of ammunition were recovered, significantly damaging the gang’s operations. The Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang is known for involvement in various criminal activities, including narcotics smuggling, arms trafficking, and extortion rackets.
